# Odisha Government to Prioritise Displaced Families Under New Rehabilitation Policy

**BHUBANESWAR:** Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has directed District Collectors to strictly protect the rights of families displaced by developmental projects and ensure the effective roll-out of the state's new Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy.

The directive was issued during a high-level introductory review meeting conducted via video conferencing with District Collectors from various districts. The session focused primarily on establishing a structured framework for implementing the new policy guidelines seamlessly across the state.

Addressing the administrators, Minister Pujari emphasised that the state government remains fully committed to public well-being and will not compromise on the interests of affected citizens. Collectors received clear instructions to oversee the distribution of appropriate assistance packages and provide immediate redressal to secure the livelihoods of displaced people.

"Our government stands firmly with the people," the Minister stated, reiterating the Revenue Department's focus on driving inclusive growth while safeguarding the socio-economic rights of every individual impacted by state development works.
