# Cyclone Arnab: Odisha CM Conducts Aerial Survey; ₹20 Crore Special Assistance Released For Ganjam

**BHUBANESWAR:** Odisha Chief Minister [Mohan Charan Majhi](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=%2Fg%2F11ck88v52w&q=Mohan+Charan+Majhi), accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister [Suresh Pujari](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=%2Fg%2F11flbt8gn3&q=Suresh+Pujari), undertook an aerial survey on Friday to review the severe flood situation in the deluge-hit Ganjam and Gajapati districts. The inspection follows exceptionally heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclonic Storm 'Arnab', which has left thousands stranded and submerged vast stretches of infrastructure in the state's southern region.

In a swift administrative move to bolster ground-level response, the state government has released an additional financial assistance of ₹20 crore specifically designated for disaster response and relief operations in Ganjam district.

To support the thousands of marooned villagers currently cut off by the rising floodwaters, emergency deployment of aerial resources has begun. Four helicopters have been pressed into service to ferry essential food supplies, targeting 21 identified drop points across the worst-affected zones. Ground personnel stationed at these strategic locations have been tasked with immediate door-to-door distribution of the air-dropped packets to ensure relief reaches those stranded without delay.

Massive mobilization of emergency services, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), and state fire services, remains underway as authorities focus heavily on zero-casualty rescue and rapid restoration.
