# Odisha Floods: DoT Activates Emergency Roaming for Telecom Recovery as Fire Services Launch Mass Rescue Operations, Missing Search Near Ganjam Border

**BHUBANESWAR** — The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Telecom Service Providers have **activated Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) and launched extensive repair work** to rapidly restore mobile connectivity across storm-hit zones in the state.

The emergency telecom intervention comes as personnel from the Odisha Fire Services and dedicated rescue teams continue extensive emergency operations following severe flooding in multiple regions. Emergency responders recently evacuated several employees trapped inside inundated commercial facilities, while a parallel operation successfully rescued stranded wildlife, including a herd of deer, from heavily flooded pockets.

Simultaneously, specialized search and rescue teams have intensified their operations near the Ganjam-Kandhamal border. Teams are currently deploying advanced tracking equipment and watercraft to locate several individuals who remain missing after being swept away by rising water levels. Local authorities report that both rescue operations and telecom restoration efforts will continue round-the-clock as weather conditions permit.
