# ODISHA CABINET APPROVES MAJOR AGE RELIEF FOR GOVT JOBS; LAUNCHES AI POLICY

**BHUBANESWAR:** In a landmark decision aimed at expanding employment opportunities, the Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved a major proposal to raise the upper age limit for entry into state government services from **32 to 42 years**.

This sweeping age-limit hike applies across upcoming state recruitment cycles, though the government confirmed that uniformed services will be excluded from this relaxation. The decision is expected to widen participation and provide massive relief to thousands of job aspirants across the state who had crossed the previous age threshold.

Alongside this employment boost, the Cabinet greenlit the official **Odisha Artificial Intelligence Policy**, a strategic framework designed to drive AI-powered digital governance and position the state as a tech-forward hub. Furthermore, in a bid to strengthen state-wide healthcare logistics, the Cabinet approved the launch of the **Odisha Ophthalmic Service Rules**, which will streamline and fortify eye care delivery across the state.
