SAMBALPUR: Formar union Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan led a series of high-profile events across the city on Thursday to mark the Seva Paksha celebrations celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The Union Minister commenced his visit by offering prayers at Sambalpur’s historic Maa Samaleswari Temple, where he lit lamps and offered special prayers for the long and healthy life of the Prime Minister. Following his temple visit, Pradhan inaugurated a mega blood donation camp organized by the Sambalpur BJP Yuva Morcha as part of the nationwide service initiative, extending his gratitude to the youth volunteers who participated in the drive.

Later in the day, Pradhan officially flagged off two ‘PM Surya Rath’ awareness vehicles at the Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) campus. Launched by TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), these mobile units are scheduled to travel across the region to educate the public on the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The initiative aims to drive the adoption of rooftop solar energy by highlighting the financial and environmental advantages of the central government’s clean energy flagship scheme. The flag-off ceremony was attended by the Sambalpur District Collector, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, and senior executives from TPWODL.
