Technology & Education Focus: Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati Launches High-Tech STEM and AI Labs in Bargarh to Empower Rural Girls
BARAGARH:Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Sunday launched advanced STEM, Aeromodelling, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs at Kosala School in Nuakhairapali village, calling for the technological empowerment of rural girl students.
The high-tech facilities—which include the Boeing Sukanya STEM Lab an Aeromodelling Training Centre, and a dedicated AI Lab—aim to bridge the educational divide between urban and rural sectors, particularly across western Odisha.
Bridging the Gap for Rural Talents
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kambhampati emphasized that talent should never be constrained by circumstances. He stated that the new laboratories would actively nurture curiosity, foster innovation, and help rural students translate their scientific aspirations into real-world achievements in aviation, robotics, and computer science.
The STEM facility is designed to promote hands-on learning in mathematics and science, while the aeromodelling and AI centers will introduce students to emerging technologies shaping the global future. During the event, the Governor also paid tribute to the school’s late founder and visionary chairman, Gannimani Anand Rao, lauding his journey from a farmer to an entrepreneur dedicated to rural upliftment.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Baragarh MLA Aswini Sarangi, Attabira MLA Nihar Ranjan Mahanand, Bhatli MLA Irasis Acharya, Boeing India CSR Head Praveena Y, and School Principal Rabi Narayan Behera.
Celebrating Decades of Cultural Harmony
Earlier in the day, Governor Kambhampati attended the 23rd inaugural ceremony of the Koshal Andhra Cultural Association in Attabira, celebrating over six decades of harmonious integration of the Telugu community in western Odisha.
Tracing the community’s roots back to the construction of the Hirakud Dam project, the Governor praised the Telugu diaspora for preserving their linguistic heritage and traditions—like Ugadi and Sankranti—while blending seamlessly with the local population.
Highlighting the upcoming Lord Sri Venkateswara Temple project as a future hub for culture and social service, he called for deeper bilateral cooperation between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh across education, entrepreneurship, and sports. Attabira MLA Nihar Ranjan Mahanand and Fluent Grid CEO Gannimani Murali Krishna were also present at the cultural meet.
