Odisha Completely Naxal-Free, Ushering in Era of Industrialisation: CM Mohan Majhi
BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Saturday that the state has become completely free from Naxalism, crediting sustained security operations by the Odisha Police and firm government measures for the milestone achievement.
Addressing the National Unity Day celebrations at the OSAP 7th Battalion parade ground in Bhubaneswar, Majhi highlighted that the restoration of peace and security has successfully paved the way for industrial growth and robust investment in the state.
“Areas where people once feared travelling even during the daytime are now free from the atmosphere of fear and terror,” Chief Minister Majhi stated. He emphasized that the transition to a Naxal-free state was achieved under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
A Boost for Global Investment
Linking the security milestone directly to economic progress, the Chief Minister noted that a new chapter of industrialisation has unfolded in Odisha over the past two years. Investors from across India and international markets are increasingly showing interest in the state’s potential. Majhi reiterated that a strong law-and-order environment remains the foundation for commercial development, praising the state police for fostering a peaceful, investor-friendly atmosphere.
Tribute to the Iron Man of India
The declarations were made on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Paying rich tributes to the ‘Iron Man of India’, Majhi lauded Patel’s exceptional political vision, determination, and pragmatic leadership in integrating more than 560 princely states to lay the foundation of a united and strong nation.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister administered the National Unity Day pledge to police personnel, watched an impressive parade, and took the salute. Senior state and police officials were present at the event.
